That’s me

As far as I can think back I always loved nature and its colour. Imagine the bright yellow of the sun, the sea with its deep blue and the strong green of fresh growing grass. The yarns I supply shall represent this enormous variety of natures strong and bright colours, and I am looking forward to sharing them with you. I am convinced my range will satisfy every desire.

I didn’t know anything about weaving until I turned 18, as I started to work in an occupational group for handicapped adults. Those people were weaving the whole day on big looms and were able to make a lot of colourful fabrics. It fascinated me right from the beginning and I immediately had to discover how to weave. At the end of this trainee-ship as a special teacher, I was able to put on my own warp and weave but my knowledge was too basic and I was keen to learn more about this craft work.

In 1990 I began to study weaving in one of the only weaving schools left in Switzerland. The 3 years course covered all weaving patterns, studied the application of colours, weaving techniques, designing and finishing garments. Even 3 years I suppose, was a short time to learn all this. Upon finishing this school I felt having millions of patterns and ideas in my mind, ready to become a reality.

Weaving is a very inspiring kind of work, as the more you weave the more ideas you develop.

Another important part of my life is working with mentally handicapped people, which can be very good combined with weaving. They love the colours and the work. Weaving acts as a therapy, simply because you have to use hand and feet simultaneously, therefore it can improve the overall condition of any person. During the process, weaving makes people calm and friendly and the benefit is shown immediately. Every thread is bringing them forward. The colours of the yarns play an important role as well due to their ability to stimulate a person. Finally, we did manufacture various products out of the produced fabrics, which I was selling on markets.

These methods are recognized by the federal Swiss government.

During the last five years I have been teaching and practising these skills in a foundation for mentally handicapped adults and have enjoyed this experience very much.

Now I am in Australia and a new part of my life has begun. Australia is a great country and offers a lot of opportunities. Building up this business is a new challenge for me and has so much to do with colours which I always loved.
Do you like my range of colours?

Life is colourful!

See ya
